2019 Smith Grant Applications Now Being Accepted

The W. Eugene Smith Memorial Grant is now accepting applications for the 2019 Smith Fund Grant, Smith Fund Grant for Student Photographers, and Howard Chapnick Grant. The grants are awarded to photographers who continue the Eugene Smith legacy of documenting important topics through a compassionate and humanistic lens.

Each grant is awarded to one photographer whose work and skill level exemplify the Smith tradition. The Smith Fund grants are awarded to those who wish to begin or continue a photographic project relating to the human condition by using exemplary photojournalistic techniques, while the Chapnick Grant is awarded to those wishing to implement a project, pursue an internship, or begin a sabbatical project.

Applications are open until April 20th (first deadline), with the final deadline being April 30th.
