Call for Entry - 2022 Global Peace Photo Award

The Global Peace Photo Award is now accepting entries. Formerly called the Alfred Fried Photography Award, the prize honors imagery representing and furthering the mission of world peace. Photographers around the world are being asked to show “what peace looks like” for them personally.

Along with prominent jurors Peter-Matthias Gaede, longtime editor of GEO Magazine; Lars Boering, Managing Director of World Press Photo; Lois Lammerhuber, publisher, photographer and founder of the GPPA and others, as a permanent member of the jury, Gerd Ludwig is honored to select images that hold such purpose.

In partnership with the World Press Photo Foundation, the Award is open to amateur and professional photographers alike, and entry is free of charge. The top five works will be honored with the Alfred Fried Peace Medal at the award ceremony in Vienna, Austria in November 2022. The winner of Peace Image of the Year will receive a cash prize of €10,000, as well as have their image shown in Austrian Parliament for one year before being added to their Permanent Collection.

The contest is also open to entries from children 14 and younger, awarding a separate Children’s Peace Image of the Year. The winner of this prize will receive €1,000 and will be invited to attend the November award ceremony in Vienna.

Entries are open through May 22, 2022. For more information and to enter, visit the Global Peace Photo Award website, Twitter and Instagram.
