TASMANIA/THE OVERLAND TRACK IN GEO GERMANY
Tasmania is Australia's second oldest and also its smallest state with a population of 473,000. It is a place of remarkable topographical diversity, with breathtaking mountain ranges, lush rainforests, delicate alpine moorlands, picturesque waterfalls and wild beaches. Known world wide for its pristine wilderness, about one quarter of Tasmania is contained in national parks, and most of this has world heritage status. Gerd's story on Tasmania appears in the August issue of German GEO Magazine. An additional story covering Tasmania's Overland Track was published in the Special GEO, Aug/Sept 2005. A selection of images from Tasmania can be found in the RECENT WORK section of this website.
