Seeking new Studio Manager

February / 11 / 2019

I am looking for a part-time office manager in my home/studio setting in the Mount Washington area of Los Angeles. Generally 3 to 4 days a week (Monday through Thursday) 10am to 6pm. The job requires multiple skills, and little that is routine. It is an office position, and does not involve any fieldwork or picture taking – with the rare exception of assisting during workshops, either in the US or abroad. My current Studio Manager is moving to San Francisco. I am therefore looking for an immediate replacement, and training should start within the next two weeks.

Personal qualifications:

• Extremely detail oriented
• Trustworthy
• Impeccable English language and writing skills
• Ability to multitask short term deadlines and long-term projects
• Ability to work independently while I am out of country
• Passion for photojournalism, documentary and fine art photography
• Editing skills with an eye for professional documentary photography
• Experience working as an assistant with top-level photographers would be a plus

Advanced skills in the following areas:

• Daily business correspondence, invoicing, and office management
• Proficient in Photoshop (Camera Raw, layers, masks, toning, color correction etc.)
• Experienced working on MAC computers (Mac troubleshooting and iOS device management)
• Knowledgeable in Digital Asset Management, such as Photo Mechanic, Media Pro, etc
• RAID management and advanced hard drive upkeep
• Social media savvy, fb, IG, Twitter, Linkedin, YouTube, Vimeo
• Fine art printing using inkjet Epson printers
• Assisting in workshops and preparation of lectures
• 35mm Digital SLR experience, preferably Canon
• Help with project research and proposal writing
• Film scanning

Video editing (iMovie, Premiere Pro), Graphic Design (InDesign), Web design using HTML/CSS, WordPress and Squarespace, knowledge of Copyright registration, and a foreign language are major advantages.

Please send resume/CV with cover letter.
